Global Programs

United Arab Emirates

The Department of Health Abu Dhabi and Alfred Health Emergency came together to create the Collaborative Advancements in Emergency Care (CAEC) initiative. As a part of this collaboration the Empowered Emergency Nurse Leadership (EENL) program was established. Designed to empower current and emerging emergency nurse leaders to build their leadership capacity and influence change.

Objective

The aim of this collaboration is to teach participants how to guide and support their service and colleagues, to lead or develop a department that enables exemplary patient care. Drawing on evidence-based leadership theories, the course provides the foundation for leadership development regardless of what stage of your leadership journey you are on. Whilst exploring essential components of successful leadership, enhance leadership capability through reflection and development of personal attributes and receive in-depth guidance on how to develop your own leadership style.

  • Two virtual tutorials delivered by faculty and guest speakers.

Global Emergency Nursing Summit

The inaugural participants of the Empowering Emergency Nursing Leadership course were recognized for their commitment to the program and their efforts to enhance patient care through effective leadership at the Global Emergency Nursing Summit 2023 in Abu Dhabi.

This hybrid summit was part of the Emirates Society of Emergency Medicine Conference 2023 and served as a pivotal moment to address barriers and celebrate progress in emergency nursing on a global scale. Through an exploration of case studies, participants gained actionable insights drawn from local experiences, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and solutions.

Representatives from government policy-making bodies, senior health administrators, and relevant professional organizations joined hands with nursing and operational clinical staff to chart a path forward toward the professionalization of emergency nursing worldwide.
